We specialize in providing metro areas throughout the United States with professionally organized singles competition for adult men and women ages 21 and over. We utilize the latest in web design and computer technology to deliver our players high quality competition in a convenient flexible format.
The Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA) is a non-profit organization devoted to the development of tennis for recreation and physical fitness and is pledged to maintain the rules of play and high standard of sportsmanship. The primary function of ALTA is scheduling league play for adult teams and junior teams in the five-county metro area. A facility annexation program was developed in 1988 to include qualifying facilities in counties adjacent to the metro counties.
ALTA is affiliated with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) through membership in the Southern Tennis Association (STA) and abides by the USTA rules of tennis and code of play.
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the recognized leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.
Established in 1881, the USTA is a progressive and diverse not-for-profit organization whose volunteers, professional staff, and financial resources support a single mission: to promote and develop the growth of tennis.
The USTA is the largest tennis organization in the world, with 17 geographical sections, more than 700,000 individual members and 7,000 organizational members, thousands of volunteers, and a professional staff dedicated to growing the game.
