Pool Rules

flipThe ASTC Rules and Regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members. These rules have been established to assure the safe, enjoyable and sanitary operation of our facilities. All members are required to review these rules and regulations carefully. Members are requested to caution their family members and guests to observe all rules and obey all instructions by the pool manager and other staff of ASTC.

Our priority is the SAFETY of all members. Please respect our rules and the direction of our lifeguard staff. If at any time you have questions or concerns about the operation of your pool, please contact an officer of the Board or visit the Contact  page of our website, fill out the form and someone will get back with you as soon as possible.

Rules & Regulations
General

The pool and grounds are limited to members in good standing and their paid guests. At no time are non-members allowed to use the facility while not in the company of a sponsoring member. A guest is defined as someone living outside the membership area. A map of the membership area can be found online HERE.

Children under the age of 9 may not be on the grounds without adult supervision. Parents are always responsible for the behavior of their children while on ASTC property and membership privileges are subject to review for serious and/or repeated rules infractions

All members must sign in upon entrance to the grounds.

Guest fees must be paid upon entrance to the grounds.

Appropriate swim attire is required – bathing suits only.

No food or glass is allowed on the pool deck at any time – non glass drink containers only.

No drink containers of any kind are allowed in the pool.

Running is not allowed on the pool deck. Rough play and excessive noise is prohibited on the grounds in general.

Bicycles, skateboards, scooters and rollerblades are prohibited on pool grounds and tennis courts.

Pets are not allowed on the grounds.

The pool phone is provided as a courtesy; please keep calls to three minutes or less.

Smoking is prohibited on the pool deck and patio.

Public intoxication or abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Acts of vandalism, theft, trespassing, assault or disorderly conduct will be prosecuted.

A violation of rules may result in an immediate removal from the grounds and suspension or termination of membership as determined by the Board of Directors.

Swimming

Please do not interfere with the lifeguards or their ability to perform their duties.

Children of diaper age must wear swim diapers with plastic covers at all times while in the pool or on the pool deck. Changing diapers on the pool deck is prohibited, please use the restrooms. Accidents happen: If a breach of a diaper occurs in the pool or on the pool deck, please notify a lifeguard immediately.

Adult swim is restricted to those 18 and older. Non-swimmers are allowed in the shallow end of the pool during adult swim and must be accompanied by an adult.

All swimmers must exit the pool immediately on the occasion of lightening or thunder. The pool will remain closed until 30 minutes after the last occurrence of lightning or thunder and at the discretion of the lifeguard.

Diving is only allowed in the deep end of the pool.

No tennis balls or Frisbees are allowed in the pool. Soft sponge balls, diving toys, water guns and floats are allowed at the discretion of the lifeguard.

The pool will be closed during home swim meets. The schedule for swim meets will be posted on the bulletin board and can be found online at http://www.avondaletidalwaves.org/

Diving Board

Only one person is allowed on the diving board at a time.

Only one bounce is allowed on the diving board.

Dive or jump straight off the front of the diving board.

Kiddie Pool ( aka: the Mushroom)

The Kiddie pool is for children 5 years of age and under. No lifeguard is on duty and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Rafts and/or floats are not allowed in the Kiddie pool.

All swimmers must exit the pool immediately on the occasion of lightening or thunder. The pool will remain closed until 30 minutes after the last occurrence of lightning or thunder and at the discretion of the lifeguard.

Children of diaper age must wear swim diapers with plastic covers at all times while in the Kiddie pool and area.

The Kiddie pool will be closed during home swim meets.

Parties

The Dance Hall and Tennis Pavilion are available to all members for private parties. Parties have no age restrictions but can only be hosted by an adult member in good standing. Adult supervision of children is required.

Reservations must be made with the ASTC party coordinator no less than 24 hours in advance. Reservation requests may be made online at www.myastc.com .

Maximum attendees for a party is 25, including members and guests. Guest fees must be paid for each non ASTC member in attendance. A request for larger parties must be submitted no less than 7 days in advance and is subject to Board approval.

Private parties may not be scheduled on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Fathers Day or Labor Day weekends.

ASTC and ALTA sanctioned events take priority at the Tennis Pavilion only. These dates can be found on the party calendar online at www.myastc.com .

Members are responsible for cleaning up after parties. Failure to do so may result in fees assessed to the booking member.

Parties are restricted to normal pool hours and days of operation.

Tennis

The tennis courts are for use by members in good standing and their guests. No guest may use the tennis courts in the absence of a sponsoring member. A guest is defined as someone living outside the membership area. A map of the membership area can be found online at www.myastc.com .

All guest fees must be paid when entering the grounds.

Swim & Summer Tennis members are welcome to use the courts during the summer swim season only. Swim & Year Round Tennis members pay an additional fee to use the courts year-round.

The courts are open to members between the hours of 8:00AM and 10:30 PM.

The courts are to be used for tennis only. Tennis shoes and shirts must be worn on the courts.

Children 10 and under must have adult supervision.

Skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, bicycles and the play of street hockey are not allowed on the courts.

Glass containers are not allowed on the courts.

Spectators are to remain outside the courts.

Offensive language and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated on the courts or surrounding area.

Committee approved events such as ALTA/USTA matches or community based tournaments take precedence over regular play.

The Tennis Committee must approve any scheduled event. All tennis events will be posted online at www.myastc.com .

Violation of tennis rules may result in the loss of privileges.

Tennis- Reservation Policies

Members must use the online reservation system to reserve club courts. The tennis reservation calendar can be found online at www.myastc.com .

A member may only have 3 pending reservations at any time.

When reserving a court, only one member name is required for the appropriate time and corresponding court.

Courts can be reserved for a maximum of 2 hours and should start on the hour or half hour.

Reservations shall not be extended by two or more players signing up for consecutive times sunder separate names.

Reservations shall be forfeited if the players are not present and ready to play ten minutes after their scheduled start time. The remainder of the forfeited reservation may be claimed by any players present and ready to play.

As a courtesy, please cancel court reservations as soon as possible if unable to attend.

The tennis coordinator has the right to cancel any reservation that does not follow policy.

Tennis – ALTA/USTA Policies

Any Avondale resident, who participates on the ALTA /USTA teams which play on ASTC tennis courts, must be an ASTC member in good standing. Summer Swim & Tennis members can only play on teams whose schedule is completed during the swim season.

Non Avondale Estates residents who play on ALTA/USTA teams must pay ASTC $35 per season, per team to use the courts. This fee entitles the non-resident access to the tennis courts for ALTA/USTA events only, and no other use of the facility is granted. ALTA/USTA will provide team rosters to the ASTC prior the start of each season for the purpose of collecting fees for all non-members.

Teams must submit practice schedules to ASTC for approval. Practices are limited to 1 two hour session per week. Weeknight practices must begin at 6:00pm or earlier OR 8:00pm or later. Team members may not reserve courts immediately following a practice. However team members may continue to play on non-reserved courts provided no other members are waiting to play. Teams may schedule practices up to 3 weeks prior the beginning, and through the duration, of league play. Once a team is eliminated they are remove any scheduled practices from the reservation system.

Teams may only reserve 2 courts for sanctioned matches. If another court is not reserved by match time, the team may use that court.

The ASTC Tennis Committee must approve all leagues, teams and players.

 

Abuse, Molestation, and Harassment Prevention

1. Three person rule – It is prohibited for any adult employee or volunteer to be alone with one youth who is not their child. There must be another adult present or more than 1 child.

2. Required Reporting – All volunteers and employees are required to report any known or suspected abuse incidents by an employee or volunteer to law enforcement and to the board of directors of the pool.
